(A) Our Commitment to Child Safety

Rust Kisumu ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to creating a safe online environment for all users, especially children. This Child Safety Policy outlines our unwavering commitment to protecting children from harm, including child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), and details the measures we take to prevent, detect, and report such activities.

(B) Scope of This Policy

This policy applies to:

  • All users of the Rust Kisumu App, regardless of age.
  • All content and interactions within the Rust Kisumu App.
  • Our moderators and volunteers involved in the operation and management of the App.

It complements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We encourage all users, parents, and guardians to read this policy carefully.

Zero Tolerance for CSAE

We have a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) material and any behavior that endangers children. Any user found to be involved in such activities will be immediately and permanently banned, and reported to the appropriate authorities.

1. Prohibited Conduct and Content

1.1 Prohibited Content

The following content is strictly prohibited on the Rust Kisumu App:

  • Any material depicting child sexual abuse or exploitation (CSAE).
  • Content that solicits, entices, or grooms minors for sexual purposes.
  • Content that promotes or facilitates child abuse, neglect, or endangerment.
  • Any content that violates laws related to child protection.

1.2 Prohibited Conduct

Users are strictly prohibited from:

  • Attempting to contact minors for inappropriate purposes.
  • Sharing or requesting personal information from minors without parental consent.
  • Engaging in any form of harassment, bullying, or exploitation of minors.
  • Impersonating a minor or misrepresenting age to engage with minors.

2. Reporting Concerns

We encourage all users to report any content or behavior that they believe violates this Child Safety Policy immediately. Your vigilance is crucial in maintaining a safe environment.

  • In-App Reporting: Use the built-in reporting tools available within the App to flag suspicious content or users.
  • Email Reporting: Send detailed reports, including screenshots and user IDs, to our dedicated child safety team at rustkisumu@gmail.com.
  • Emergency Situations: If you believe a child is in immediate danger, please contact your local law enforcement agency immediately.

All reports are treated with the utmost seriousness and confidentiality. We will investigate promptly and take appropriate action.

3. Our Actions Upon Receiving a Report

Upon receiving a report concerning child safety, we will:

  • Immediate Review: Our trained moderation team will review the reported content or conduct without delay.
  • Content Removal: Prohibited content will be removed immediately.
  • User Action: Users found to be in violation of this policy will face immediate account suspension or permanent ban.
  • Law Enforcement Notification: We are legally obligated and committed to reporting all instances of suspected CSAE to the relevant law enforcement authorities and child protection agencies.
  • Preservation of Evidence: We will preserve all relevant data and evidence to assist law enforcement in their investigations.

4. Age Restrictions and Verification

The Rust Kisumu App is intended for users aged 18 and older. We implement measures to prevent underage individuals from accessing our platform. While we strive for accuracy, we rely on users to provide truthful age information. We encourage parents and guardians to monitor their children's online activities.

5. Education and Awareness

We are committed to educating our users and staff on child safety issues:

  • User Guidelines: We provide clear guidelines on appropriate behavior and content within the App.
  • Staff Training: Our moderation team receives regular training on identifying and responding to child safety concerns, including recognizing signs of CSAE.
  • Partnerships: We collaborate with child safety organizations to stay informed about best practices and emerging threats.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Child Safety Policy periodically to reflect changes in laws, best practices, or our services. We will notify users of any significant changes by posting the updated policy within the App or on our website with a revised "Effective Date."
